To purchase a handgun in Maryland you first have to see an online video on Handgun Safety. It takes about 20 minuets to watch the video. Afterward you can print out the Safety Course ID card. You need to bring  the card with you when come in to fill out your pistol application.You only have to watch the course once.

 

If you were ever in the military, have a handgun carry permit, or are a law enforcement officer you do not have to take the course.
